Fire is ancient. Something we can feel in our bones. Building a relationship with fire is a lifelong journey. From candles on a cake, to starting your own fire with natural materials. Fire will be the heart and soul of this workshop.

Naturally providing warmth and light, after learning about natural materials and how-to, the fire will be used for making cookies using a cast-iron cookie press. These will be filled with whipped cream, which we will be whipping by hand with a whisk! … No electricity; hand tools will be a major focus in this workshop. They will include: knives, saw, flint & steel.

Participants will go home with their own hand crafted fire-kit made with natural materials. You will learn how to locate, identify, and collect material to use for making fire and to add to your kit. We will be working with both plants, and trees.

This workshop will be hosted on a property owned by dear friends of ours. Deep respect and care for the land is also at the heart and spirit of this workshop. The landscape ultimately is what and who will hold this workshop!

Nature is not something outside of us; we too, are nature. If we are to remember and know our true selves, we must remember that we are directly and innately connected with the natural world; that what we do to the earth we do unto ourselves.
